At 12:09 on Wednesday, 15 March, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Catherton Common, Hopton Bank, Cleobury Mortimer .

5 fire appliances were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Wellington.

Fire involving approximately two hectares of gorse and undergrowth. Fire service extinguishing fires and damping down hotspots.
