At 18:25 on Friday, 23 October, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire.

3 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Ellesmere, Shrewsbury and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Short extension ladder
• Thermal imaging camera

Crews have tackled barn fire containing wood and coal. 2 hose reel jets, short extension ladder and thermal imaging camera used.

At 18:48 on Thursday, 10 September, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Oswestry.

3 fire appliances including the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Ellesmere, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Wem. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Incident involves large fire in agricultural barn. Currently 6 appliances plus specialist appliances and officers are in attendance at this incident. Assistance also from Chirk. Crews continue damping down. One hose reel jet and 2 main jets remain in use.

Barn Fire

Ebnal Lodge Farm, Rhosygadfa, Gobowen

At 06:40 on Thursday, 10 September, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Ebnal Lodge Farm, Rhosygadfa, Gobowen .

4 fire appliances were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Oswestry and Shrewsbury.

Grain dryer approximately 6 metres high and 3 meters wide smoking within a large barn. Fire crew are using reciprocating saw to cut holes in the aluminium container to access the grain and thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots. 1 hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus also in use.

2 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

Fire involving agricultural building storing approximately two tonnes of hay. Fire extinguished using one hose reel jet and onsite manitou.

5 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Hodnet, Oswestry, Prees, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Main jet

Fire involving approximately 30 tonnes of hay, straw and several items of various farm machinery within an agricultural building. Dragging out and damping down in progress.

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Fire crews have dealt with fire involving waste wood between two agricultural buildings using 1 hose reel, 1 main jet and 2 breathing apparatus.

At 17:28 on Monday, 18 May, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Hopton Cangeford, Ludlow .

6 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Craven Arms and Ludlow. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

One single storey agricultural outbuilding measuring 25m x 15m involved in fire. The roof has been 100% destroyed by fire. Electrics isolated. One hose reel jet, one main jet used to extinguish. Fire Investigation carried out.
