3. During the last calendar year, on how many occasion, has a fire appliance been unavailable due to insufficient crewing levels? For each occasion, please provide the date, length of time the appliance was unavailable, type of appliance and the station it is based at.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. Please refer below: 1. a) The total number of current vacancies for retained (part-time) personnel for your stations. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service do not record numbers of vacancies for specific Retained Stations, retained recruitment is an open vacancy for all stations. It depends on the applicants hours of availability and how this fits in with the current cover on Station. b) Which position has been advertised for the longest period of time? (Please give in days.) n/a - retained recruitment is an open vacancy. 2. a) The current number of vacancies for full time (wholetime) personnel in your area for stations. Please detail which station. On the 29th January 2018 our recruitment campaign will be opening and we will be looking to recruit 10 Firefighters (with Job Shares available). Stations are Telford, Shrewsbury and Wellington but locations of these vacancies are TBC b) Which position has been advertised for the longest period of time? n/a – our recruitment campaign does not open until 29th January. 3. During the last calendar year, on how many occasion, has a fire appliance been unavailable due to insufficient crewing levels? For each occasion, please provide the date, length of time the appliance was unavailable, type of appliance and the station it is based at. The attached spreadsheet contains the information requested for the last 9 months of the 2017 calendar year. The data for the first 3 months of 2017 is already published on our website (please refer to the 2016/2017 spreadsheet): https://www.shropshirefire.gov.uk/retainedon-call-appliance-availability . Please note that the length of time each appliance was available/unavailable is recorded in total hours for each month, and expressed as a percentage of the total time crews could be available.
