Water useage

Request detail:

I am doing some research into water usage by Fire Brigades and want to know how you pay for water and how you are metered.
Does each fire station have it's own meter and own bill, do you have a separate bill for your HQ and training school.
Do you have to pay to fill up a pump after it has attended an incident.

Could you tell me your average water bill for the last 3 years.

Response detail:

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. Please find below the information requested. Does each fire station have it's own meter and own bill, do you have a separate bill for your HQ and training school. Each station has its own meter and water bill. The meter and bill for Shrewsbury covers both the station and the HQ. At Telford there are 2 meters (and therefore bills), 1 for the station and 1 for the Training Centre that is based on the same site. Do you have to pay to fill up a pump after it has attended an incident. Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service does not pay to fill up appliances after attending an incident. Crews have the use of bypassed fill points at each fire station and crews can also use hydrants around the county. Could you tell me your average water bill for the last 3 years. The total average water bill for the last 3 years is £30,961.53. Who is my best point of contact. Paul Jones, Facilities Officer, 01743 260242
