At 20:53 on Thursday, 8 June, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

This incident involved a small bonfire. One hose reel jet used to extinguish.
