At 11:46 on Sunday, 20 October, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Caravan Fire in Newport.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Thermal imaging camera

Fire within grill pan of catering van that was extinguished prior to Fire Service Personnel.
