At 18:27 on Sunday, 20 October, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wellington.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Thermal imaging camera

Incident involved small fire in wood store which had spread to recycling bin. Fire was out on arrival however crews have dampened down area and given advice to occupier. Thermal imaging has been used to check for any hot spots.
