At 17:25 on Tuesday, 22 October, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Church Stretton.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Church Stretton and Ludlow.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Small gear

100ft tree on fire with smoke issuing from base. Fire caused by nearby bonfire. Crews extinguished using hose reel jet and small tools.
