At 21:19 on Thursday, 10 April, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wem.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

Two straw bales alight in field measuring 5m x 5m. Extinguished using hose reel jets and drag rakes.
