At 14:01 on Thursday, 10 July, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Markey Drayton.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Market Drayton, Newport and Wellington.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

There was approximately 20 meters of hedgerow, trees and barley on fire, crews used 2 hosereel jets to extinguish.
