At 09:59 on Tuesday, 2 May, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Hazardous Substances in Ellesmere.

4 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are dealing with an Incident involving 40 drums of chemicals. A leak has been identified and attempts are being made to contain this leak. Update - Firefighters have now contained all affected drums.
