At 08:20 on Friday, 14 September, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smell Of Smoke in Forton Road, Newport .

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Newport.

Report of a smell of smoke and smoke alarm actuated in domestic property. On arrival the incident was found to be a false alarm caused by burning toast. No action was required by crew.
