At 15:58 on Sunday, 24 February, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Bridgnorth.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Bridgnorth and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

• Lifting & animal harnesses, straps

Also at the scene of the incident were: a vet.

Crews assisted with the rescue of a calf which had become impaled on railings, using lifting gear from the rescue tender and assistance from the farmer with farm machinery.
