At 11:59 on Friday, 9 August, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Wellington and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

1 horse with its rear legs stuck in a cattle grid, rescued by Fire Service personnel using a rescue harness and holmatro spreaders.
