Animal Rescue



Request detail: 

This is a request for information made under the 2000 Freedom of Information Act. As required by the act, and reiterated by the FOI section of Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service’s own website (  ), I would be grateful for an acknowledgment within 20 working days of receipt. I have checked the Freedom of Information disclosure log on the website, and do not believe a request of this sort has been answered before.

Within the parameters set out above, I would like to request the following information:

I.                    A brief description of rescue incidents involving animals handled by the fire and rescue service, covering either December 1, 2018 to November 30, 2019, inclusive, or the first three quarters of 2019 (whichever time window is more convenient).

II.                  In each case, brief details including a. The species and number of animals involved, and the situation from which they were rescued. b. The number of fire and rescue service staff and appliances involved, c. Whether other agencies or organisations were involved (police, RSPCA, private veterinary practices, etc), d. The date and time (if available – approximate dates and times will suffice) of the incident, and e. The location (approximate - a town/village name or the first half of a postcode will suffice) of the incident.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.

Please find attached the information you have requested of  Animal assistance incidents from 01/12/2018 to 30/11/2019.  SFRS do not routinely keep records of other agencies or organisations that were involved in an incident. SFRS do not routinely record specific species or number of animals involved.
