What equipment does the fire service have access to for the purpose of animal rescues?

Response detail:

Thank you for your enquiry with regard to animal rescues.

Please find attached a spreadsheet that shows the date of each animal rescue incident that Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to in 2013, 2014 and 2015, and a station area for that incident.

The type of animal rescued is recorded as either a ‘Farm animal, e.g. horse or cow’, ‘Cat, dog or other domestic pet’ or ‘Bird’. The category ‘Lift Heavy animal’ is also used in animal rescues. Occasionally the type of animal selected is ‘Other’ and more information may be supplied in the ‘details’ field. The spreadsheet attached contains any relevant information taken from our Incident Recording System.

With regard to charges issued for rescuing any of the animals, I can confirm that we have not charged for any animal rescues during this period.

Please find attached also a document with the list of items Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service holds and uses for animal rescues.
