disabilities incident response

Reference:

Request detail:

I know this might be a strange request. But I was wondering if you kept a record of the number of disabled people you attended to, everything from RTCs, Fires, Accidents etc?

I am disabled myself, Oxygen dependant, wheelchair bound and have brittle bones. I am fascinated to learn how or if you have NY policies etc?

Response detail:

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request. We do not hold specific information regarding disabilities from an incident response perspective. Where recorded we capture Elderly or Disabled in the same category using our Incident Recording System. We also have a log text field where officers can populate relevant additional information.

SFRS do not have any specific policies that deal with disabled or disabilities when attending an Incident. We have support teams available to our crews (British Red Cross Emergency Response – (FESS)  who are trained in safeguarding and disability awareness and this team can be mobilised if required.
