I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
1) Does the fire service deploy drones or unmanned aerial vehicles?
2) If a yes, what drones do they possess?
3) Where were the drones purchased from and for how much?
4) who is the relevant person(s) in charge of the drone programme?

1) Does the fire service deploy drones or unmanned aerial vehicles?
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service does not have a drone, however arrangements are in place for regional requests into County and also through National resilience if required. The Service does have a mutual aid agreement with Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service to supply and operate a selection of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle’s upon request.
2) If a yes, what drones do they possess?

4) who is the relevant person(s) in charge of the drone programme?
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s (HWFRS) Operations department co-ordinate HWFRS drone capability.
