At 03:25 on Saturday, 5 November, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Nr. Telford.

7 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Ellesmere, Hodnet, Much Wenlock, Oswestry, Prees, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply
  • Portable pump

Fire involving the contents on one barn containing farm machinery and timber which is well well alight. 4 main jets in use. This is a protracted incident with 4 crews in attendance. Crews using water supplied from local open water source and from hydrants. No further details at this time.

Fire involving approximately 200 tonnes of straw bales in field - 2 jets and 1 hose reel jet in use.

At 02:13 on Saturday, 24 September, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire Commercial in Shawbury.

13 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform, the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Craven Arms, Hodnet, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Telford and Wem. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency and the Police.

Fire involving building 100m x 80m 4 Hose Reel Jets 3 Main Jets and Breathing Apparatus for comfort. Approximately 70 personnel have been in attendance.

7 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central, Tweedale and Wellington. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .

Fire involving whole of 3 storey domestic property, approx. 5m x 10m, six breathing apparatus, main jets and hose reel jets in use. All persons are now accounted for. Damping down in progress.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Main jet

Fire involving approximately 200 tonnes of straw consisting of 450 bales. Crews damping down surrounding area to stop fire spread using one main jet and one high pressure lance.

5 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

Barn approximately 25m x 50m, containing 250 bales of hay smouldering. Hay being removed using farm machinery, two hose reel jets, one covering jet

5 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Prees, Wellington and Wem. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Main jet

Approximately 300 tonnes of baled hay fully involved in fire. Fire now surrounded and a fire break in place. Two main jets in use from improvised dam and farm supply borehole. Fire believed to be deliberate. Any information please call 101 Relief crews continuing to attend at this incident

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Beaters
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet

Fire involving approximately 100 SQM straw and stubble alight, strong winds have fanned flames and hindered progress so crews made up for extra resources as a precaution to protect nearby property. Crews have been using beaters and extended hose reel jets as well as the fogging unit from the Incident Support Unit (ISU). Damping down now in progress

Approximately 100 SQM of straw alight in field. Fogging unit from Incident Support Unit (ISU), beaters and farm machinery in use use, crews dragging aout and damping down.
