At 13:23 on Monday, 11 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue in Shrewsbury.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews were called to reports of 2 males seen entering the river. Full visual search of river carried out by Fire Service Personnel. Further information received confirming that the 2 males self rescued themselves before the arrival of the Fire Service.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

This incident was a false alarm. Incident left with West Mercia Police.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Crews assisted West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance, after receiving reports of a person in the water. After a thorough search, all persons were accounted for.

Driver of one car stranded in floodwater, self rescued prior to Fire Service arrival. Crew provided 1st aid assistance awaiting arrival of Ambulance Service personnel.
