Chair and Members of Shropshire and Wrekin Fire Authority, welcomed Lord Stephen Greenhalgh to Fire Service after his recent appointment as joint Minister of State with responsibility for fire in the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the Home Office.
The welcome comes as Lord Greehalgh is the first Fire Minister to straddle both the Home Office and Ministry for Housing Communities and Local government.
This recognises the important role Fire and Rescue Services play in keeping people safe in high rise and high-risk buildings, including during build or once occupied and sits alongside a £10m grant that has been allocated across UK Fire and Rescue Services.
