Invitation to seminar: Protecting Shrewsbury's Historic Buildings from Fire

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council and English Heritage invite the owners and occupiers of "Historic Buildings" in Shrewsbury to a free seminar to be held at the Prince Rupert Hotel on Wednesday 15th November running from 6.30pm till 9.00pm

The purpose of the seminar is to inform those attending of the impact of fires in "Historic Buildings" these buildings are vital to the appeal and heritage of a town like Shrewsbury and are irreplaceable.

There will be three speakers who are:

Mr Ian Kilby Conservation Officer SABC
The potential danger of fire in a Medieval Town Centre and the importance of historic buildings

Mr Steve Emery English Heritage
Discussing why fire starts how it grows and the difficulties of fire fighting in Historic Buildings

Mr Martin Huckle Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service
Speaking on Fire Risk Assessment

There will be short forum during which the speakers will answer questions from the floor.

Light refreshments will be provided.
