See a chip pan on fire and witness how firefighters free road accident victims from the wreckage of their car – at an open day at Shrewsbury’s new fire station this Saturday.
Firefighters will also demonstrate how they rescue people using safety lines from the fire training tower.
Youngsters can experience the colourful “smoke tent” to show how they should escape from a smoke filled building.
Fire safety advice will be available to everyone at the event from 10.30am to 3pm on July 21 at the St Michael’s Street fire HQ opened by the Fire Minister earlier this year after a major revamp.
