At 12:11 on Friday, 7 March, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Shrewsbury.
3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Dry powder extinguisher
- Hosereel jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.
One car fully alight on the westbound carriageway of the A5. Extinguished using 2 breathing apparatus', 2 hose reel jets, Foam and one dry powder extinguisher.
