At 11:37 on Monday, 27 June, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as HGV Fire in Porth-y-Waen.

6 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Oswestry, Tweedale and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• 9/10.5m ladder
• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

Fire involving refuse lorry - 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet, 1 x 9 metre ladder
