At 01:37 on Saturday, 22 October, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Market Drayton.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Hodnet and Market Drayton. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Fire involving approximately 200 tonnes of straw bales in field - 2 jets and 1 hose reel jet in use.
