At 21:56 on Wednesday, 9 August, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Ruyton XI Towns.

3 fire appliances including the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch and Oswestry.

Approximately 13 tonnes of straw and artic trailer destroyed by fire - 2 hose reel jets and drag rakes in use.
