At 07:11 on Sunday, 22 December, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Buckets of water
• Knapsacks
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks

This incident involved bundles of newspapers set alight which were extinguished using buckets of water.
