Blaze destroys timberyard

Fire Crews battle the fire at the Timberline site in Shrewsbury

Fire Crews from across Shropshire battled a blaze in Shrewsbury which ripped through a timberyard and destroyed offices close to a local pub.

The fire started just before 2pm on Saturday at the Timberline site, Coleham Head and drinkers were evacuated from the Seven Stars pub whilst fire crews fought for two hours to bring the blaze under control.

Police closed all roads leading to the area as the fire was tackled in two of Timberline's buildings. Crews continued to work through the night to make the site safe.

Workers from the company had already finished work for the day when the fire broke out.
