Wholetime Recruitment Campaign 2018

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service has recently undertaken a recruitment campaign for Wholetime Firefighters. The campaign closed at 18:00 on Sunday 4 February 2018.

The posts are all predominately full-time (known as whole-time) but the brigade says that applications for job-share in these roles will also be considered. Applications have been restricted to people living in Shropshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, West Midlands, Cheshire, Wrexham and Powys.

“Keeping the people of Shropshire safe and well is our top priority and that involves our firefighters interacting with Shropshire’s varied and diverse communities more closely and more often in many different ways than ever before.

“Working as a firefighter is one of the most rewarding and fulfilling of jobs and we welcome applications from all candidates of the surrounding areas who seek a career in the Fire Service as we want our firefighters to reflect the rich and varied diversity of the communities they serve,” says Shropshire’s Chief Fire Officer, Rod Hammerton.

Successful candidates will also be expected to undertake a basic Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.

The Candidate Information Pack, located at the bottom of the screen, gives details on all stages of the process.

We're also providing links to practice versions of tests you will be asked to complete in the recruitment process - Verbal Reasoning and Numerical Reasoning.
