At 08:24 on Tuesday, 9 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport .

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Telford.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks
• Shovels/Forks/Brooms

Approximately 2 tonne of woodchip on fire. Fire extinguished using one hose reel jet
