Children and Young People

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) has been delivering education in schools as part of a program of events for many years.

This schools education programme is delivered by both operational staff (firefighters) and our prevention team.

We aim to help children understand how to prevent fire and how to act if there is a fire, and the consequences of fire setting behaviour.

The schools program includes:

Year 3 (age 7/8)       KS2     Qwizdom Interactive PowerPoint Presentation
Year 6 (age 10/11)   KS2     Crucial Crew
Year 8 (age 12/13)   KS3     “It’s Too Late Now” Film

Resources to support these programmes can be found on our Youth Education Programmes page

Our schools program is co-ordinated by our Prevention Officer - Children and Youth, so if you have any enquiries relating to this, please contact the Prevention team by either calling 01743 260200 or emailing enquiries@shropshirefire.gov.uk.
