At 18:43 on Sunday, 14 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport .

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire involving Conifer trees which had spread to nearby field. Crews used 2 Hosereel jets to extinguish.
