At 14:09 on Thursday, 18 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire M54 in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wellington.

This incident was a false alarm due to a controlled burn underneath M54 which was billowing over carriageway. Control burn stopped and advice given to occupier
