At 10:44 on Wednesday, 31 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Market Drayton and Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Knapsacks

Approx 4 square metres of grass involved in fire crews using beaters and knapsasck sprayers to extinguish
