At 20:48 on Monday, 12 December, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

This incident involved a small amount of brash being burnt filling the house with smoke. Crews extinguished and used a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
