At 10:07 on Monday, 19 December, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as SSC Urgent in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

This incident involved a member of the public that had become trapped chest deep in a manhole.
