At 23:00 on Thursday, 24 August, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smoke In Area in Whitchurch.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Prees.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Thermal imaging camera

Reports of bales possibly smoking, concerns for ignition. Crews investigated using a thermal imaging camera and moved bales accordingly to lower the temperature.
