At 17:43 on Saturday, 21 October, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Smell Of Gas in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .

This incident was a false alarm good intent. Crews completed a thorough search using gas monitor.
