At 19:18 on Saturday, 28 October, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Bales Of Straw Large in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire involving approximately 20 tonnes of feed and rubbish. Cause accidental. Fire crews used 1 hose reel jet, 1 misting lance, drag rakes, shovels and thermal image camera.
