At 07:38 on Friday, 3 November, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as AFA.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wellington.

Reports of an automatic fire alarm activation- upon arrival it was found to be a chlorine gas leak which had been detected by the on site detection system. Chlorine supply has been isolated and the leisure centre is to remain closed until an engineer arrives to inspect.
