At 06:04 on Thursday, 9 November, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Pontesbury.

3 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Minsterley and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

One calf has been rescued from slurry pit by Fire Service personnel using large animal rescue equipment.
