At 21:16 on Friday, 1 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Chimney Fire in Wem.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Wem.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

Incident due to treated wood being used in log burner. Crews extinguished fire and checked temperature of log burner. Advice given to occupier.
