Just after 12pm we were called by the occupier of a house that her Oil Tank was alight which was situated next to her property. 2 appliances and a level 1 officer were mobilsed to the incident. Due to the large plume of black smoke that could be seen as far as Bridgnorth we also received a number of duplicate calls. Upon arrival the crews reported that thick black smoke was issuing from the location of the property. An assistance message for an extra Fire Engine was quickly passed to Fire Control to assist the current Firefighters with extra manpower and water. By 12:30 the domestic property that is situated next to the Oil Tank was 100% involved in fire. It soon became apparent the Aerial Ladder Platform (which is based at Shrewsbury) would be needed to tackle the blaze that had engulfed the roof space of the property. 4 Breathing Apparatus, 2 Hose Reel Jets also 2 Main Jets were used. Firefighters will be detained for some time at the incident damping down and checking Hotspots in the roof space.
