At 19:35 on Monday, 27 May, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as HGV Fire in A5 between Jct 7 M54 and Preston Island.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Telford Central and Wellington.

Call to HGV with smoke issuing. This was found to be a false alarm caused by steam from the diesel heater system.
