At 12:08 on Saturday, 20 July, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

Bin fire at rear of property which has spread to adjacent fencing and a shed.
