At 11:52 on Saturday, 1 February, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as AFA in Newport.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

This is was a false alarm due to fumes from cooking
