At 14:10 on Thursday, 20 March, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Church Stretton.

6 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Church Stretton, Ludlow, Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire on the Long Mynd involving 500 square metres of heather. Fire crews used fogging systems and beaters to gain control and extinguish fire.
