At 13:19 on Tuesday, 5 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Field Of Straw in Ludlow.

7 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Craven Arms, Ludlow, Telford Central and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters

Fire involved 200m x 100m of standing crop alight. Fire also affected one domestic shed. Drone from Tweedale fire station utilised to check for further hot spots. Assistance from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service.
