At 16:07 on Monday, 11 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Madeley.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Tweedale.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Buckets of water
• Hosereel jet
• Knapsacks

This incident involved trees and undergrowth on fire, this incident is believed to have been caused by a discarded cigarette. Crews used 1 hosereel jet, knapsack, beaters and buckets of water to extinguish the fire.
